We are delighted to be celebrating the third anniversary of Whisky Angels on Shabbat Terumah 5786.  You will know that this gives members the opportunity to provide a bottle of single malt whisky on a Shabbat of their choosing, linked to the parsha being read, but only when the kiddush is not sponsored.  We are very proud of our Whisky Angels and thank them, both those who have had the opportunity to provide whisky, and equally those drowning their sorrow because on their Shabbat the kiddush was sponsored, so they missed out.  We look to go from strength to strength.

A quick reminder that Whisky Angels commit to providing a bottle for a minimum of three years on their chosen Shabbat.  As we enter our third year, and the minimum commitment starts to end, we want to clarify that you can keep your Shabbat, or Shabbatot, for as long as you wish.  You won’t be bumped but can of course step down whenever you want to – just let us know if that’s the case.

For those who missed out at the start, you have the opportunity to become Angels and get onto our cloud on the following Shabbatot/Chagim in 2026:

  • Vayishlach
  • Va’era
  • Behar
  • Ekev
  • Vayelech
  • Shavuot 2
  • Succot 2

Of course, any of our band of Angels may ask to add to their portfolio, or request a swap.

So, l’chaim, and here’s to many more years of whisky drinking, and Angelic behaviour.
